Make Believe Ideas Recalls Seven Rainbow Road Board Books Due to Choking Hazard

Safe Play
Whitman County Public Health has been working to prevent head injuries in children by provide bicycling helmets throughout the county.
We have a supply of bicycle helmets in various sizes for children, if your child needs one please stop by one of our WCPH office locations during normal business hours.
Put the helmet on your head. Look Up. You should see the bottom rim of the helmet.
Make sure the straps form a “V” under your ears when buckled. The straps should be a little tight but comfortable.
Open your mouth as wide as you can. Does the helmet hug your head? If not, tighten the straps.

Safe Home
As part of WCPH’s SafeKids efforts, we have started to provide safe home kits to local clinics to distribute to Whitman County families as needed.
We’ve partnered with: WMG Colfax, Palouse Peds, Pullman Family Medicine and WSU Family Medicine Residency Center to help parents and guardians get the materials needed to make their homes safer for their children thus reducing the childhood injury rate within Whitman County.
If your child is 12 months or younger and you are at your child's pediatrician appointment, ask to take home one of WCPH's Safe Home kits.
Any medication—with or without a prescription—can be harmful if taken in the wrong way or by the wrong person. Lock Boxes are one of the most effective deterrents to accidental poisonings, overdose, medicine theft, and misuse.

The swing violates the Safe Sleep for Babies Act because the product was marketed for infant sleep and has an incline angle greater than 10 degrees. Infant fatalities have occurred in inclined sleepers, after the infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances. The swing also violates the Safety Standard for Infant Swings.
